Karena has practised exclusively in family law since her admission to practice in 2021. Karena is experienced in complex matters involving parenting disputes, property settlements, financial agreements and family violence. Karena empowers clients to navigate their family law matters by providing careful strategy and clear, tailored advice. Karena is keenly focused on achieving just and equitable outcomes for her clients. With a background in psychology, Karena approaches practice with empathy, cultural sensitivity and compassion.
Karena graduated from La Trobe University with a Bachelor of Law(Honours)/Bachelor of Psychological Science. For her Honours studies, Karena conducted qualitative research into the advantages and opportunities for reform of family reports conducted by psychological experts in family law matters. Prior to practising law, Karena expanded her insight into complex family dynamics by working as a research assistant on a forensic psychological study which focused on refining the family violence risk identification tools utilised by authorities to reduce family violence.
Karena is a member of the Commonwealth Law Association, Victorian Women Lawyers and the Golden Key International Honour Society,
